I recently got a second monitor and was trying to make a two monitor (and the laptop screen as a third) setup. I used VGA on my old monitor and had a HDMI to DVI cable for the new one. Because my laptop only has VGA and DisplayPort, i got a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. I connected everything and it worked ... Keep in mind that some laptops have a micro HDMI or a mini HDMI port, so you'll need a different cable — you can get it via the buttons below. Then plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the adapter to connect the two devices together. To finish the process, select the HDMI input on your TV.
