Dec 31, 2012 · ProRes is a format that you can only buy with Final Cut Pro X or Apple Compressor so you’ll need to have a Mac with the appropriate software in order to create ProRes files. I have seen some PC software that claims to create ProRes files but they don’t work very well and I question their legality since they didn’t license it from Apple.

What This seems to do is to move the black point of the clip without stretching the footage. Adjustment of color temperature that would have been useful for underwater video is not available.
